Chetak Electric Scooter: Don't Buy
I test-drove the Chetak electric scooter, and I wouldn’t buy it. Here, + means a strength, and - means a weakness:
- It looks retro.
- Its navigation is useless.
- The scooter failed to start. Once we got it working and I test drove, while I was making a turn, the scooter suddenly shut down. I tried to start it and it wouldn’t. I then turned it off and then on.
- The acceleration isn’t smooth. The ride is jerky.
+ The scooter is much smoother over rumble strips than Ather
± The maximum speed in Eco is 70 kph
+ There’s a side stand sensor to cut the motor out when the stand is extended.
- The screen isn’t touch.
- I don’t have confidence in the scooter as much as an Ather.
