Dream Experience: Submarine
I watched videos about submarines. The hatch to enter the submarine was no bigger than a man’s width. Thinking how the entire submarine had such a small exit made me feel claustrophobic. What if the mechanism jams? Would the people inside be trapped? This was a frightening thought.
That night, I dreamt that I was supposed to take a transport from one place to another, so I went to the pick-up point along with about ten other people. It turned out to be a pier. The land sloped down to the water and as I stood there looking out, a channel of water jutted inland to my left. It wasn’t wide, maybe wide enough to fit a bus aligned with the channel.
Then, a submarine came in from the sea , and I realised to my surprise that we were all here to board it. The submarine pulled into the channel, with only a few meters space on either side. We boarded it, and it made its way out to sea. Then, there was a storm. The sub shook violently from side to side. The power went out, because the submarine sustained damage. We were in pitch black, being thrown around, trapped inside a metal tube with no windows, underwater, with no power. I was frightened and woke up.
