Vida V1 Pro: Crappy Scooter from a Crappy Company
I test-drove the Vida V1 Pro electric scooter, and I wouldn’t buy it. I’d buy the Ather Apex over this:
- The rear view mirrors can't see behind me — my body blocks them. I tried adjusting them, and it doesn’t work. Either the mirrors are defective on this scooter, or on all.
- Exposed motorcycle-like handlebar — ugly.
- The motor doesn't cut out when you apply the brake.
- Poor fit and finish
- When I enabled automatic brightness, under the bright daylight, the screen became dim.
- The turn indicators didn’t turn off after I completed a turn.
- The turn indicators don't beep to tell me they're still on.
- The turn indicators didn't turn on when I thought I applied them.
- The front brake squeaks.
- No hill hold.
+ Removable battery
- Dealing with the company was a bad experience: the showroom had no AC. I had to wait for an hour for the test drive. The salesman told me he’ll keep the key. When I asked him whether I’ll need the key for anything once I’m in my test drive, he repeated he’ll keep the key. I repeated my question and he gave me the key while grumbling. One rear-view mirror was broken. When I pointed it out to the salesman, he had no concern for my safety. If it’s like this to deal with Vida before you give them your money, imagine how much worse it will be after.
