What you should charge for vs. delegate
How good are you at something? Better than others, as good as them, or they’re better than you?
How much do you enjoy it? Do you love it, are you neutral, or does it damage your soul?
Based on your answers to these two questions, this infographic tells you whether it should be your profession, hobby or whether you should hire someone to do it for you:
If you love it but you’re not better at it than others, it’s your hobby, like my tennis. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you have the correct expectations that it will bring you happiness but not money or fame.
If you neither love it nor are better than others, delegate it. This could be menial tasks like cleaning your bathroom, or intellectual work like hiring a chartered accountant.
If you’re better at it than others, then it becomes your profession. You’d do it for others for a fee. Some of the things you’re good at you might also love, which you’d discount.
