Dream Exploration: Dreaming of Driving When in a Car
I recently took a four-hour long drive. I was a passenger, and I was tired, so I dozed off. As I did, I dreamt that I’m driving in the basement of a huge mall, driving up a ramp facing the wall, so I had to turn either left or right.
Then the dream ended. It was just a micro-dream.
When I woke up, I found it interesting how the dream both mirrored and inverted what was happening in real life. It mirrored the fact that I was traveling in a car, which I was in the dream, too. It inverted many of the details:
In real life I was a passenger, while in the dream, I was driving. I suppose that’s also a metaphor for me wanting to have more control in life, since I was buffeted by adverse events.
In real life, the car was traveling outdoors in bright daylight, while in the dream, it was traveling underground in an artificially lit basement.
In real life, the car was traveling on a flat road, while in the dream, it was driving up an incline.
